These principles still hold true today and are enhanced by our wonderful facilities, spacious grounds, and dedicated staff. The facilities have been enhanced even more over the past few years with a new swimming pool, 25-classroom building, 13 tennis courts, 2 beautiful playgrounds and the 2002 completion of our New Athletic Center.

Three Programs Available
The Fessenden Day Camp offers three programs, each carefully designed to accommodate different ages and levels of social and emotional development.

Half Day
(ages 4 to 5 1/2)
Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
The half-day program is generally recommended for children preparing to enter school who would benefit from a shorter day in a small group setting.

Middler 1, 2 and 3
(ages 4 to 6)
Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
This program serves as a bridge for campers making the transition to a full camp program. Many of the activities are the same as the full-day camp with sufficient adaptations appropriate for this level.

Full Day
(ages 5 to 12)
Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The full-day program provides a well-organized, creative experience with a variety of activities to stimulate campers at all age levels.

Activities:
Swimming
A Red Cross Swim Program, directed by certified Water Safety Instructors, is specifically geared to children, provides standards and testing procedures for the evaluation of progress. In addition to the instructional periods, all campers enjoy free swim times to cool off and have fun with their friends.

Arts and Crafts
Creative experimentation includes a broad range of craft projects geared to age and ability. Skilled specialists teach art through painting, sculpture, ceramics and a variety of other imaginative media.

Music, Dance and Drama
Campers experience and experiment with various dramatic arts. They sing, dance, act, pretend, march and mime.

Woodworking
In our fully equipped shop, campers learn the techniques of sanding, shaping, painting and design. Projects include toys, gifts and useful household items.

Tennis
Campers learn the fundamentals of tennis. The emphasis for younger children is on imaginative games and drills to help acquire skills. Older campers showing strong interest receive more advanced instruction to sharpen their skills and enthusiasm.

Archery
Campers learn the skills of aim, stance and safety under the supervision of a certified instructor.

Multiple Child Discount
The Fessenden Day Camp offers a multiple child discount for families who sign up for eight weeks. Please read the brochure for further details on this program. We will once again offer an early (8:00-9:00 a.m.) drop off and late pick-up (4:00-5:00 p.m.) option for an additional fee for those who would benefit from such a service. If you are interested in this option, please check the appropriate space on the application (space is limited).
