Item Description
Morticia Addams
THE ADDAMS FAMILY
2010
It’s certainly not an outfit that most mothers can wear, but Morticia Addams knows how to rock a skin tight black gown with slits that nearly meet in the middle. She may be macabre, droll and icy, but she’s also downright sexy, particularly as she’s been created on stage by Tony Award-winning Bebe Neuwirth. They say Morticia is conflicted about her daughter’s lurch into womanhood and her own fears of being upstaged, but with this look, she doesn’t show it. Our teddy bear version of Morticia is just as striking. Her dress features two types of black lace over beaded purple satin. The shoes (described once as “dominatrix boots” and Bebe’s contribution to the original costume) are made by LaDuca, an exact replica of the pair they made for the show. The trademark long black hair wig is hand-ventilated by Tom Watson, who made Bebe’s wig for the show. And to top off the look, a pair of long fake eyelashes – actually worn by Bebe during the Broadway run. Gomez may have her miserable heart, but you can take Morticia home for keeps
