Item Description
Jennyanydots
CATS
1982
One of the most lovable characters in Cats is the charming Jennyanydots, an old Gumbie cat. As T.S. Eliot wrote, “her coat is of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots.” This Jennyanydots’ coat is of the softest chenille robe, handmade with filled tubular bands of fabric encircling her very round form. Accessories are always a girl’s best friend so we find Jenny’s dainty feet are toasty warm in matching booties. Fine wool is used to hand crochet gloves and a stylish beret, which is topped off with a spotted pompom. To transform our “bear” into a “cat,” the Gumbie’s face is hand painted with tiger stripes, exotic eyes and rosy cheeks. Plush kitty ears wrap around the bears own ears to frame that wonderful face. A custom-dyed fringe of orange hair completes the look.
