Item Description

Madame Morrible
WICKED
2003

As Glinda announces her engagement to Fiyero, Madame Morrible tells the citizens of Oz the “true” story of how wicked the Wicked Witch of the West is. Wearing what Wicked Wardrobe simply calls “Feathers,” the bear’s ensemble is a beautiful scaled duplicate of Susan Hilfterty’s Tony Award-winning original. Her black silk taffeta skirt is overlaid with hand-dyed green lace attached to a gold and ecru lace bodice with a high lace collar covered in sequins. Her grandeur is resplendent with her green velvet robe, hand-stamped with a fern and floral pattern and over 18 yards of marabou feathers dyed in three different colors. The robe is hand-embroidered and beaded with gold thread, hundreds of bugle beads and gold Swarovski crystals. It is lined in peacock blue silk that shimmers and changes color in the light. The back of the robe opens to reveal a large, sheer peacock blue bustle comprised of over two yards of hand-embroidered silk chiffon and a wide horse-hair hem. On her feet, Morrible wears matching peacock blue leather high-button Victorian boots. Her white receding “bear-line” is parted and pulled into two slightly curly buns, and she has a hint of blush and dramatic eyelashes. Get this weather-changing Head Shiztress before she gets you!
