Item Description
This very special item is a reservation for eight (8) people at the world-famous Rao's restaurant in East Harlem.
Outsiders rarely get to dine at Rao's, which is perhaps the world's most difficult reservation. The restaurant has only ten tables, which are treated like timeshare real estate: Woody Allen owns one table on a given night every week, Martin Scorsese owns another, and if you call for a reservation you will be told politely "No."
For the full story on Rao's it is highly recommended that you read this New York Times article, "A Table at Rao's? Forgetaboutit."
But the MSC auction has a table. The exception to the no-newcomers rule at Rao's is that regulars are permitted to sell their reservation for a night to benefit a worthy cause. On the rare occasion that tables have been offered in charity auctions, they have fetched as much as tens of thousands of dollars. The minimum bid in this auction is $5,000.
Item Special Note
This item is an offer of a reservation for 8 on a Thursday night, date to be mutually agreed upon. Price does not include your meal, for which the restaurant accepts cash only.
