Item Description
The winning bidder will receive a guaranteed reservation when StoryCorps comes to Mendocino County this spring. StoryCorps is the acclaimed Oral History Project heard every Friday morning on NPR nationally, and locally on KZYX. Although all of the opportunities to participate in StoryCorps are offered on a first come-first serve basis, the winner of this lot will be one of approximately 100 people to have a guaranteed place on the list.
StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate one another’s lives through listening. They travel the country year-round recording the stories, life experiences, and conversations of everyday people. StoryCorps preserves these recordings in their archive at the Library of Congress, and selected stories are broadcast every Friday on NPR’s Morning Edition, heard locally on KZYX.
The stories of people in Mendocino County are essential to the StoryCorps archive, and you and your spouse, son, daughter, or friend could be captured forever in this rare event. If you're the winning bidder, there is a guaranteed spot for you at the StoryCorps booth this spring.
Item Special Note
StoryCorps will be in Ukiah from (approximately) April 25-May 23, 2011. The winning bidder must call David Steffen at KZYX at (707) 895-2324 prior to April 14, 2011 to secure their spot.
