Item Special Note
In 2007, Andrea used her signature textile to launch her first collection of lifestyle bags for women and men. Immediate success motivated her to establish her own fashion design label: Andrea Valentini Inc. In 2009, Andrea opened her flagship store in Providence, RI. Andrea says about her bags, “Having always felt that one needs to balance innovation with style, I sought to create bags that would be protective, lightweight, and durable, while still being rich and sensual.” Andrea also designs jewelry collections. For her “DNA” collection, Andrea wound bead ball chain to resemble the double helix of biological DNA. Since 2002, it has been sold in New York City at The Museum of Modern Art(MoMA), at Takashimaya, and also in Japan and South Korea.
Andrea spent 2010 designing custom duffel bags for all of the artists who performed at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. A portion of the proceeds benefit Eric's Crossroads rehabilitation center in Antigua.
In conjunction with her Providence showroom, Andrea has also founded an art gallery which she dubbed “The LAUNCH Gallery.” In an effort to give back to the community that nurtured her creative talent, Andrea uses the LAUNCH Gallery to offer promising RISD seniors their first solo art show. The shows don’t only provide the artists with a venue to exhibit and sell their work. They also “launch” each artist into the world of public art and their own subsequent careers.Item may be shipped to winner.
