Take home a memento from tonight's Gala and dazzle everyone with your brand new pearl bracelet, win a Nintendo 3DS, or head off to sunny Newport Beach!

That's right, you read it correctly- this is an unusual lot and here's how it works: when we get to this lot, the youngest person at each table will have ninety seconds to auction off the beautiful Shanghai-inspired centerpiece you see in front of you. He/she will then write the name, bidder number and winning bid amount on the paper provided at each table, place it in the accompanying envelope, and pass it to one of the collectors. The results will be tallied, and before the live auction is over, we will announce the name of the highest bidder in the entire room as the winner of not only the centerpiece, but also a bracelet of champagne colored pearls, each approximately 6 mm, with a floral clasp topped with a 4mm pearl.

In the event of two or more equal high bids, there will be a live auction between the bidders to break the tie. The winner of the highest bid in the room will receive the pearl bracelet donated by Gala Chair Angela Lee, while the second highest bid in the room will get their hands on a brand new Nintendo 3DS, which is not available to the public until March 27th. This handheld gaming system offers real 3D graphics with no need for special glasses. This is truly cutting-edge technology! The third highest bid in the room will enjoy a one-night stay at the luxurious Fairmont Newport Beach. While in Newport, you can visit the popular Fashion Island Shopping Center or go to the beach and enjoy the golden sand and warm ocean breeze. Please note that the highest bidder at each table will win the centerpiece on their table and be charged accordingly. The winner will take it home with them tonight.

Limitations: Reservation for the Fairmont Newport Beach must be made in advance, is based upon availability, and expires on March 26, 2012. Gift certificate for Fairmont Newport Beach may not be replaced if lost or stolen; cannot be re-sold or transferred to anyone else, and has no cash value. Winner of Nintendo 3DS will be contacted by the Office of Advancement after the Gala to arrange pick-up of item.
