Item Description

Walk through the Moon Gate and glass waterfall corridor at Koi Palace in Daly City and embark on one of the most raved about culinary experiences in the Bay Area. The restaurant, which is dubbed as "The Best Cantonese Restaurant in the Bay," resembles a serene tea-garden, complete with koi pond. Although the decor is striking, what you will remember most from this experience is the meal itself.

The San Francisco Chronicle applauded Koi Palace as having an "extensive menu" and "pristine tanks of Thai and Dungeness crab, Pacific and Maine lobster, live prawns, black bass, geoduck clams, and more."

On this special Chinese culinary exploration, you and seven other guests (eight total) will be welcomed by the Koi Palace Manager and led to a private dining room. Tea will be served in "handsome black pots with one of many complimentary teas, such as oolong, jasmine or chrysanthemum."

One of Koi Palace's knowledgable staff members will provide you with an introduction to the live seafood tanks with exotic live seafood from around the globe, after which, the chef will personally prepare a banquet based upon your group's preferences. Koi Palace offers a wide variety of seafood (including many rare varieties of fish and shellfish) that is sourced from around the world which will make for a truly memorable meal.

Of course, no meal could be complete without wine. ISTP's Head of School Philippe Dietz will personally review the dishes to be prepared and will provide your group with Alsatian white wines from his private, personal cellar. Wine enthusiasts know that pairing seafood with Alsatian whites is a match made in heaven!

Rest assured that you will walk away from this sophisticated gastronomical adventure with an elevated appreciation for Chinese banquets and seafood. In addition, you will also receive four copies of Chef Martin Yan's "Martin Yan's Quick & Easy - Episode 209 - Family Affair." In this episode, Martin visits the village where his father was born, and also demonstrates how preparing a meal can become a family affair, with potstickers and spicy dipping sauce, quick char siu and "Monday Night" Dumpling Soup.

Limitations: Winner must discuss group's preferences with restaurant manager in advance. This is not suited for vegetarians or persons with shellfish or seafood allergies, and there are no menu substitutions. Valid Sunday through Friday evening, until March 23, 2012.
