Item Description
You'll dig this tour of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music led by former CEO of the Soulsville Foundation, Deanie Parker. Ms. Parker, who recorded “My Imaginary Guy” with the Valadores in 1962 and a few other singles, was Stax Records' first Director of Publicity. During her tenure at Stax, Parker became a driving force in the record industry, with her songs being recorded by the likes of Ann Peebles, Otis Redding, Albert King, and others. As a Stax Records original staff member, Ms. Parker will share some of her favorite memories and stories with you and give you a rare glimpse into the Stax archives.
