Item Description
"The Owl and the Pussycat" by Ms. Alterman's 4th-grade class. Based on the fanciful Edward Lear poem, this is a tapestry assemblage of the children's drawings embroidered on green, blue, and natural-toned linen. Each student (along with Ms. Rain) was asked to draw their own interpretation of the lovestruck Owl, while Ms. Alterman provided the elusive Pussycat. The designs were then transferred to the cloth, embroidered first with thread, and then decorated with antique buttons and Swarovski crystals. The finished design is mounted on a wooden frame. About 30" x 36".
