Item Description
Smoke, toastiness, tar and ripe fruit emerge from the glass in a generous, expansive style in this delicious champagne. The 1999 offers a wealth of body and yet possesses outstanding balance and plenty of harmony. Exotic elements are harnessed by hints of peppery spice with notes of brioche, peach and quince all vying for attention. According to Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy the warm vintage also resulted in relatively high yields, and the low-acid style is most reminiscent of the 1976. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2024.
Dom Pérignon was the first prestige cuvée Champagne introduced, an idea proposed by Englishman Laurence Venn. The first vintage of Dom Pérignon was 1921 and was only released for sale in 1936. Dom Pérignon is a vintage champagne, meaning that it is not made in weak years, and all grapes used to make the wine were harvested in the same year.
This offer: One 750ml bottle of 1999 Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon
