Item Description
Twelve-year-old TV addict Owen Noonan, son of famous children's-book author Nan-Ellen Noonan, is furious when his mother decides to marry his uncle and move to rural Vermont. Parsley, Owen's bookish cousin and sister-to-be, isn't any happier about the arrangement than he is. But weird little Parsley ahs other interest: the fifteen stray cats she's collected. Her explanation of where she found the animals -she got them from books - is patently ridiculous; and that she's hoping to provoke Nan-Ellen's allergies and postpone the wedding indefinitely is outrageous - but promising. Owen goes along, sort of, but it isn't until the blazing hot afternoon at the swimming hole, when Parsley sticks her bookmark into Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and vanishes, that Owen is plunged into the adventure of a lifetime.
Written by acclaimed author Anne Spencer Lindbergh, the eldest daughter of aviation pioneers Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh. A Vermont resident, Anne passed away in 1993, and the Anne Spencer Lindbergh prize is given bi-annually in her memory for the best author of children's fantasy.
Generously autographed (and dated) for our auction by the author's younger sister, Reeve Lindbergh - herself a Vermont resident and noted author.
