Designed by famed architect Milton B. Medary and ornately crafted by noted stone sculptor Lee Lawrie, the 205 foot neo-Gothic and art deco Singing Tower houses one of the world’s finest carillons. Concerts from the 60 bell carillon at 1 and 3 p.m. fill the Gardens daily.
The meandering garden is one of the greatest achievements of famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. Tranquil resting places, shady recesses, picturesque vistas and expansive splashes of color create a contemplative setting for your personal renewal and enjoyment. Children can borrow one a Discovery Back Pack filled with books and activities to enjoy throughout the Gardens.
Finish your day browsing the antique shops in historic downtown Lake Wales, grab a bite to eat in one of its many cafes or restaurants, and don't forget to experience Spook Hill...According to legend, Chief Cuffcowelax was buried on what is now called Spook Hill, and his spirit is still there. Drive your car to the bottom of the hill and put it in neutral; the spirit of the chief will pull your car back uphill.
