Since 2001 Bill Couig has concentrated on his own body of work while working out of UrbanGlass. His Logic Series of multiple component structures were first represented at SOFA New York 2002 and soon became his primary sculptural endeavor. In 2003, Couig was awarded a residency at Wheaton Village in Millville, NJ as part of the Creative Glass Center of America’s Fellowship Program. He spent six weeks in Millville that fall working on new designs for his Logic Series as well as refining the design work he does under the name FurthurDesign.
Soon after his residency, his work was shown at the SOFA Chicago 2004 Exposition and was included in the Smithsonian Craft Show for the second time in April 2005. More recently, FurthurDesign has established itself as vital contributor to the New York design landscape, participating in NY Design Week and BrooklynDesigns exposition continually since 2004.
Couig’s work has been shown in recent issues of Dwell, Interior Design, and Metropolis Magazines and is regularly included in Interior Design Magazine’s Market Tabloid.
