Shane Fero has been a flameworker for 37 years and maintains a studio next to Penland School, NC. He participates in international symposia and demonstrations and has exhibited worldwide. Fero is also an educator and has taught at institutions such at Penland School, NC; UrbanGlass, NY; the Pratt Fine Arts Center, WA; the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass,NY; the University of Michigan,MI; Eugene Glass School, OR; Espace Verre,Quebec, Canada; the Pittsburgh Glass Center,PA; Pilchuck Glass School, WA; Bild-Werk,Germany; the International Glass Festival, Stourbridge, UK; and Seto and the Niijima Glass Art Center, Japan. His work can be found in collections in both private and public institutions worldwide. He is currently President of the Board of Directors of the Glass Art Society.
