Item Special Note
Elizabeth Mears uses the lexicon of natural images to create glass sculpture and in doing so tells the story of her relationship to the inner and outer world.
Such messages are portrayed in the Glass Book Series in which Mears combines symbolic photographic images to represent the poetry that she has written. Through the creation of these exquisitely crafted and nationally exhibited glass objects, Mears has been designated a Master Artist in the state of Virginia, and in 2009 was one of four artists chosen to install works in the Capital Hill Office of Senator Mark Warner to represent the arts in Virginia.
These award winning works are prized by collectors and held in museum and corporate collections.
