Item Special Note
One of the world’s most eminent living glass artists, Lino Tagliapietra was born on the island of Murano, Italy. He was apprenticed to the glass studio of the Muranese master, Archimede Seguso, and achieved the rank of maestro by age 21. For three decades, Tagliapietra has generously shared his unsurpassed experience, understanding and knowledge of traditional Venetian glassblowing techniques with glass artists and audiences around the world. He has been largely responsible for the new renaissance that has swept through the world of studio glassmaking and has affected the course of glass history, helping to raise the international standards of glass craftsmanship.
