Ann Wåhlström has been translating water color sketches into glass for the past few years and joining variations of old techniques such as murrini patterns together with looser decorating techniques.The result of this technique is similar to that of drawings.
Wåhlström was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1957 and has been producing glass in various studios in Stockholm, Switzerland, and the United States from 1982-1986. She designed glass for Kosta Boda from 1986 – 2005 and designed ceramic, metal and textiles for companies like Silver & Stal and Cappellini. Ann Wåhlström has also taught at Pilchuck Glass School, WA, and at Beckman’s School of Design in Stockholm, Sweden.
