The Schenectady Symphony Orchestra is a talented group of more than seventy musicians, working under the leadership of award-winning Music Director Charles Schneider. To reach a broad audience, they provide live performances of classical music in several formats and venues, including Proctor's Theatre.
What an exciting 78th season is in store for the Schenecatdy Syphony Orchestra audience! Maestro Charles Schneider has crafted a series of concerts that will both entertain and educate, all the whle showing off the talents of our community orchestra members.
Returning to the Schenectady stage will be soloists with local ties like violinist Jonathan Chu (winner of the SSO's 1998 Stefan Competition) and pianist Wei-Jen Yuan (winner of the SSO's 1997 Parillo Competition). The orchestra also contineus its Serenade Concert Series - this year highlighting the SSO's outstanding string section in a concert that will spotlight Concert Master Michael Emery as the soloist for Vivaldi's The Four Season. You won't want to miss a single concert!
