Item Description
Have you always wanted to be more creative? To be able to point to something in your home and say, "I made that!"? Then why not try these four (4) "Clay Handbuilding" lessons?
The art of molding with clay for artistic and utilitarian purposes began in ancient times. The art form as well as the materials and tools have evolved along with man. While many still prefer to work with clay from natural deposits, polymer clays which can be fired in a kitchen oven are very popular.
Jack Stewart has experience creating three dimensional pieces with a number of different materials, including clay, and has installed a kiln in his studio for firing his own and his students' work.
Jack holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Swain School of Design with a major in sculpting. In addition, Jack holds a Masters of Art from Goddard College with a double major in sculpting and teaching. He's actually have a show at Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury during April, showing hand-chiseled hardwoods. The show, titled "Stumped!?", has its Opening Reception on Friday, April 8th, from 5-7 PM.
