Item Description
- Jim Budros, co-founder of City Barbeque and highly regarded live fire cook, will prepare a wood fired feast for ten people
- Prepared at the Live-Fire Cooking Theater at the Scotts-Miracle-Grow Company Community Garden at Franklin Park Conservatory
- Jim will consult with you on the menu based on wood-fired pizza oven, fireplace, campfire and smoker.
- Ingredients, including a selection of the best meat in central Ohio, provided by Rife's Market
- Dinner will be served on the Grape Arbor Terrace at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
- Dessert will be prepared and served by Three Babes and a Baker from their “bakery on wheels.”
Item Special Note
Event date must be pre-arranged at a mutually agreeable time with all parties involved. If 3 Babes and a Baker truck is not available, dessert will be delivered by an alternate means. Libations must be purchased through the Franklin Park Conservatory Staff.
Menu ideas from Jim Budros (winning bidder will pick three demonstrations):
- Wood oven pizza, learn and make your own if you wish.
- Leg of lamb a la ficelle, roasted vertically at the fireplace suspended on a string, served with grilled spring onions and Romesco sauce.
- Yakatori chicken with Japanese leeks, grilled on a Japanese Yakatori grill served with a ginger sauce.
- Corn and lobster chowder cooked in a caldero (cast iron soup pot) at the fireplace.
- Sausage and vegetable grill, roasted in the wood oven and served with cheesey polenta cooked at the campfire.
- Paella with chorizo and seafood cooked in the traditional pan at the fireplace.
- Hanger steaks and corn, grilled and roasted on the Big Green Egg, served with chimichurri sauce.
