Item Description
The beautiful collaboration painting the Green Budgies created called “Nighttime Glory” was inspired by an art lesson on abstract painting. The Budgies learned that abstract art, including action painting, emphasized the depiction of emotions rather than objects.
The goal of this lesson was to instill in the children the love of expressing themselves through their art. Exposing them to this style of art helps them understand that art can be an expression and does not have to reflect reality. That the beauty of art is in the eye of the beholder, and that what we like and create is personal: there is no right or wrong to art.
The children took turns painting their part of their grand collaborative masterpiece while listening to instrumental music.
We are extremely proud of all their individual creations and final product, and how they grew, shared, and learned during the process of making it! One student was so inspired by the art, that she named the piece “Nighttime Glory”. We couldn’t have agreed more!
