Item Description
This OLLA was made int he State of Mexico, to the west of Mexico City in a village that has produced ceramics since pre-Columbian times. The shape and design are pre-columbian however, the glaze is a colonial innovation. It contains lead but is perfectly safe for serving hot or cold food or decoration.
