The Amp Energy 500 is the new name for the race formerly known as the UAW Ford 500, a key race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. The Amp Energy 500 is one of four restrictor plate races in NASCAR. For the drivers that means reduced speed. It also means pure machinery won’t deliver a win. The Amp Energy 500 calls for every bit of skill and strategy available to catch the checkered flag or even finish in the top five.
