Item Description
An Original, Framed Water Color by Patricia K. Arey. The painting is of a barn in Rockbridge County, Virginia. The painting is donated by Vic Millner. It was given to him by the artist, now deceased.
Mrs. Arey and her husband Lt. Commander Richard Arey were long-time residents of Chatham living at Morea, the Nineteenth Century home of Rawley White Martin. Their home is now owned and occupied by a fellow Rotarian, Lewis Wall. Mrs. Arey was active in Book and Garden Clubs in the Community during her lifetime. Lt. Commander Arey was on the faculty at Hargrave and served as a member of the Chatham Town Council. The Areys had four children: one of whom, Allan Arey, was an attorney here in town.
