Item Description
Every yachting fan will remember the dramatic finale of the1986-87 America's Cup series. In the America's Cup challenge, yachtsman Dennis Conner made a brilliant comeback with his gun-smoke blue Stars and Stripes, sailing with ultimate precision to victory and regaining the Cup for America. A scene from Race 2 during that performance is depicted here by artist Tim Thompson: with the wind at 22 to 26 knots, Stars and Stripes has dropped her spinnaker early to lead Kookaburra around the mark.
This 30.5" by 24.5" special edition print is beautifully framed and tastefully double matted. Tim Thompson is a well-respected and world-renowned oil painter known for his depictions of beautiful boats in rough and tranquil seas.
