"EARLY BIRD" ITEM - CLOSES TUESDAY, MAY 17!

Jazz Juvenocracy 2011 European Tour Preview Concert - "Duke to Miles” - begins at 8:00 PM Friday, May 20 in the Vinoy's historic Plaza Ballroom.

Based in Sarasota, Florida, "Jazz Juvenocracy" are youngsters (ages 13 to 18) who created their band just four short years ago. They now perform at the best jazz venues in Florida and have appeared on television several times. Members of the band have performed at The Grammy Awards, the Berklee Jazz Festival and the Clearwater Jazz Festival.

Last summer, the band became the youngest jazz combo ever to have played major jazz festivals in Europe. Their 2010 European tour included some of the most prestigious international jazz festivals, including the Jazz a Vienne Festival in France, the Umbria and Tuscany Jazz Festivals in Italy, and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. At every performance on the tour, they received standing ovations and encore requests. Jazz Juvenocracy has already been invited to return to the European festivals in summer 2011.

Jazz Juvenocracy features:

  • Stephen Burnett, alto sax
  • Billy Cassidy, drums
  • Nic "The Beast" Guerin, guitar
  • Alex Hernandez, tenor sax
  • Bit Risner, trumpet
  • Reed Tucker, bass
