About the Frame This original design emphasizes various well known features of the Greene & Greene Blacker House furnishings and fixtures; the profiles of the top and bottom rails reference the newel post lantern; the most recognizable features of Blacker House furnishings, the fading indent and bracket, are highlighted in the frame's stiles.
The Greene brothers favored Honduran mahogany; this frame is made from Khaya or African mahogany.
The frame is of mortise and floating tenon construction; the fluted portion of the bracket is dowelled into the frame leg.
