Item Description

Your day as a firefighter will start at 8:00am with Captain Sergio Sanchez and his crew.  You'll report to Santa Barbara County Fire Station #14, for a day filled with various duties, 3 prepared meals, but most importantly, protecting the citizens of Santa Barbara County. The firefighters will start  by conducting a thorough check of all personal protection gear, and then the fire engine is checked to make sure all equipment is ready for service.  Captain Sanchez will provide his crew with an agenda for the day's activities.  During your shift, you and the crew will conduct and participate in: safety inspections, fire drills, rescue training, physical fitness training, and shop for dinner.  Throughout the day, you will respond to a variety of emergency calls.  In the evening, the crew will cook a firehouse dinner, so hopefully by then you'll get a chance to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.  After dinner, the crew will clean up, study, watch some TV, and relax until the next call.  This is a typical day for a firefighter and hopefully a day you will always remember.

Note:  18 and over can stay the night at the fire station.
