Item Description
Chateau Margeaux
Margaux is one of Bordeaux's most strikingly elegant chateau. Yet, despite its status, it has a wonderful family feel and an engaging personality that is reflected in its wines - renowned for their richness and opulence. The key behind Margaux's approach is the partnership between owner Corinne Mentzelopoulos and long-standing winemaker Paul Pontallier, and a great team mentality that extends from the vineyard workers right through to the management.
Item Special Note
"Garnet core with thin tawny rim. A very lifted, perfumed, cedary nose with a touch of peppermint. You can still feel the warmth from the summer with a faint hint of prune. The palate is delectable: medium-bodied, very fine tannins, a savoury meaty edge, very harmonious with that peppermint tincture coming through again on the finish. Chateau Margaux mimicking Pauillac. Very fine, surfeit finesse and character, a Margaux that begs to be imbibed rather than analysed." eRobertParker.com (May 2008)
