Item Description
Acclaimed Rochester photographer, Larry Merrill, offers a framed photograph of a TREE. This image elicits an Oooooh! when it is first seen. The harmony of textures - fine lacy branches against the smooth gray bark of the trunk - is photographic poetry. Larry currently has a one-person exhibition at the George Eastman House titled: Larry Merrill/Looking at Trees. If you visit the exhibition, you will see a larger image of this same photograph. The auction photograph is matted in white, protected behind glass, and mounted in a black metal frame that measures 11 x 14 inches. Larry's work is in the collections of: George Eastman House; Israel Museum; Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Museum of the City of New York; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Yale University Art Gallery; and the World Bank. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art he was guest curator of The Camera and the Photograph: Images in Light.
