DESCRIPTION: Package Includes-10 Door/Window sensors; GE Two way voice command panel (internal siren and door chime, battery backup and one button arming to arm the system); Protect America Window Decals; 1 Protect America Solar Yard Sign 1 Motion Detector; 2 key chains (you can arm and disarm the system); 1 year of free monitoring by Protect America. The perimeter package was designed to provide enough door and window sensors so that you can place a sensor on all of your doors and windows. The 10 contacts in the package provide protection at each point of entry into your home. The system package can be customized at any time to better meet your security needs. Security for the way you live your life. Is the monitoring of this package done locally or is it through a call center somewhere?
It's through our Monitoring Center in Irvine, CA. The backup site is in New Jersey, so if there's an issue in CA it reroutes to NJ.
Also, if the high bidder's telephone service goes down for whatever reason, is there a back-up system?
Not for land line monitoring. It still functions as a local alarm with a 24 hour back up battery even if power is cut, but signals cannot transmit without phone service, just as with any security provider.
I'm interested but first wanted to know if there's an activation fee and also what happens at the end of the one year monitoring... what if the buyer decides to go somewhere else for monitoring? Do they keep the equipment and have the freedom to stay with them or go somewhere else?
No activation fee and at the end of the free year the recipient keeps the equipment and has the option to sign up with us or sign up for monitoring elsewhere. Completely up to them.
