Item Description
If you are planning a renovation of your home, did you know you may have Lead-based paint in your home? If your house was constructed prior to 1978, it may contain Lead-based paint. Lead-based paint hazards are well documented, and young children are especially vulnerable.
Rochester has been at the forefront in addressing the Lead-based paint hazard in housing for well over 15 years. With a unique local regulation requiring lead testing in homes undergoing Certificate of Occupancy inspections, Rochester continues to be a leader in addressing Lead-based paint hazards.
To avoid creating a Lead-based Paint hazard in your home, anyone planning renovation of their pre-1978 home should test for Lead-based Paint prior to proceeding with their work. Federal law requires contractors performing renovation of painted surfaces to test for the presence of Lead-based Paints, or assume that is present. Special procedures must be followed when disturbing or removing Lead-based paint.
Envoy Environmental Consultants, Inc. is a Rochester firm that has been providing Lead-based Paint testing services to the local community since 2002. They conduct testing services for residences, schools and municipal buildings. They are fully insured, and certified by the USEPA to conduct Lead-based Paint testing.
The donated item is a complete Lead-based paint survey of a single family home anywhere in Monroe County. Envoy utilizes instant read technology to determine the presence of Lead in paint on site. A complete report will be provided, documenting if Lead-based Paint is located in the house.
Certificate expires on 10/31/11.
