Alison Blickle recently opened a show of new paintings at Thierry Goldberg Projects in New York’s Lower East Side. Titled Zabriskie Point, after both the Death Valley lookout spot and the Antonioni film of the same name, Blickle’s works depict west coast desert backdrops populated with crystal-hugging sirens. Solo exhibitions in 2010 included Zabriskie Point at Thierry Goldberg Projects in New York, and Goodbye, Golden State at Richard Heller in Los Angeles. She has also exhibited at Deitch Projects, New York; The Hole, New York; PPOW, New York; Kinz Tillou & Feigen, New York; Eleanor Harwood, San Francisco; and Las Cienegas Projects, Los Angeles.
Blickle holds an MFA from Hunter College in New York and a BFA from California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Born in San Diego, California, Blickle currently lives and works in both Los Angeles and Brooklyn.
