Curtis Stage is a Los Angeles based artist working with media art and collaged photography. For the last few years much of his work has revolved around relationships to the self and how we connect with each other in a culture of technological experience. We have wrapped music, television, cinema, and the Internet into the fabric of our lives and it has influenced our sense of time, place and identity.

Much of his current work focuses on assembling imagery that creates quirky spatial shifts where ordinary places, shapes and objects are suspended in a state of constant mix and remix. Stage is interested in compositions that appear random and pull the viewer in a multiplicity of narrative directions. However, there seems to be an energy binding disparate elements together that makes his images feel as if they are trying to re-organize themselves.

Curtis is the Vice Chair and Assistant Professor of Media Arts at Los Angeles Mission College, Visiting Artist of Digital Art at Claremont Graduate University and has been represented in Los Angeles by Fringe Exhibitions and Patricia Correia Gallery.
