She was awarded an Independence Foundation Fellowship in 2008 to support the Public Author Project, an interactive project that explores the phenomenon of books and libraries in today’s digital climate.
Murken has shown her work locally and nationally, including exhibitions at the School of Fine Arts Gallery at Indiana University, Bloomington; The Print Center in Philadelphia; The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts; and the 23 Sandy Gallery in Portland, Oregon.
