Item Description
Each vintage, the Sterling Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is created from the finest lots from their Napa Valley vineyards. Selected for their intensity of flavor and varietal concentration, the individual lots are kept separate and then blended together before barrel aging. The 2004 Reserve Cabernet grapes are sourced from Bear Flats Vineyards, the rolling hills of Moore Vineyards, the more mountainous Peterson Vineyards and Larsen Ranch in Calistoga where varietal character excels. Each of these unique vineyards imparts distinct characters to the fruit grown there, which in turn adds the complexity and richness for which Sterling Reserve is renowned.
Blend: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Gros Verdot, 4% Merlot, 2% Syrah
This robust wine is dark ruby in color, with strong aromas of ripe black cherry, spicy toasty oak, plums, cinnamon and tobacco. The rich, silky palate reveals lush black currant and blackberry flavors, strong, supply tannins and a long, fruity finish. The wine was aged in French oak barrels (approximately 50% of which were new) for 18 months.
Pair this wine with hearty red meat such as grilled beef tenderloin and rack of lamb.
