Item Description
These autographed copies of "Seasons of Real Florida" and "Pilgrim in the Land of Alligators" by Jeff Klinkenberg are perfect for any lover of "real" Florida!
Jeff Klinkenberg writes about Florida culture and the people who make the state unique. He joined the St. Petersburg Times in 1977, and his work takes him from Pensacola to Key West.
Klinkenberg's interest in Florida began when he was a small boy growing up in Miami on the edge of the Everglades. He jokes he was a charter member of "the boys without dates'' club because of hobbies that included catching snakes. He started working at the Miami News when he was 16 and later became a journalism graduate of the University of Florida.
Klinkenberg is the only two-time winner of the Paul Hansell Distinguished Journalism Award, the highest honor given by the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors.
In Seasons of Real Florida, Klinkenberg presents a collection of his Times columns organized by the four seasons. In Pilgrim in the Land of Alligators, drawn in part from his award-winning columns, Klinkenberg celebrates some of the Sunshine State's most distinctive personalities, including the original Coppertone girl and the actor who played the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
