Item Description

Entertain your guests with one hour of music by this popular Cape Ann duo, featuring Tony Hilliard on lead vocal and guitar supported by Janet Young's polished harmonies.

Choose your genre from their deep catalogue of music: love songs (ideal for engagement parties and anniversary parties), popular songs (including tunes recorded by Johnny Cash, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, and others), Celtic music, songs of faith (popular hymns), or songs of the sea (complete with sou'westers).

Item Special Note

Tony Hilliard, profiled on WCVB TV's Chronicle program as the Singing Sergeant of the Rockport Police department, is one of Cape Ann's favorite singers. Tony's song "Hammers on Stone," about the Rockport granite industry, appears on the CD North Shore Music Project, and he is one of the core singers of the chantey group Three Sheets to the Wind.

Janet Young studied voice in the continuing education program at New England Conservatory and performs music of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s with the band Hixville Swing Trio.

Together, Tony and Janet have performed at sea chantey sessions and Celtic sessions throughout New England, on Celtic music sails on board the schooner Thomas E. Lannon, and on radio stations WBOQ and WXBR. They also present programs of maritime music at libraries and museums and lead a weekly singalong for people with Alzheimer's disease. They will be featured this summer at the Elynn Kroger Gallery, Rocky Neck, Gloucester, as part of the Nights on the Neck program.

To hear their music, go to Tony's MySpace page or YouTube channel.
