Item Description
Celebrate Christmas on Sunday, December 11, with dinner for 2 and 2 excellent seats for the Los Angeles Master Chorale's Christmas concert, "Rejoice! A Classical Christmas" at 7 PM in Walt Disney Concert Hall. Four joyous seasonal classics will make your holidays bright. The centerpiece, Hugo Distler's beautiful "Christmas Story" based on the carol "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming" evokes snowy landscapes and the quiet calm of a traditional Christmas in Germany. Francis Poulenc's "Four Christmas Motets," light in texture and exuding joyful serenity, were some of Poulenc's own favorites. "A Festival of Carols" by Frank Ferko is evocative and colorful, ending with a grand flourish of Hallelujahs. A perfect finale to this holiday offering is another signature work, "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauridsen -- written for the Chorale and commissioned by long-time board member Marshall Rutter, in honor of his wife, Terry -- now one of the most popular choral works on the planet. Rejoice! Dine in the world famous Walt Disney Concert Hall Founders Room or Kendall's Brasserie to crown the evening.
Item Special Note
Tickets to the concert are for Dec. 11, 2011, so no modification of date is possible. "Concert attire," including coat & tie for men, will be required for dinner in the Founders Room or other Disney Hall restaurants.
