Will Travers, CEO of The Born Free Foundation and Born Free USA, has dedicated most of his life to wildlife issues, ever since he lived with his family in Kenya while his parents, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, made the film Born Free (1966). In 1984 he co-founded the charitable organization which has become known as The Born Free Foundation, whose projects and campaigns now span five continents and are supported worldwide. Will is also President of the Species Survival Network, an international coalition of more than 80 organizations committed to the promotion, enhancement and strict enforcement of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a member of the IUCN SSC Reintroduction Specialist Group, and a member of the Special Forces Club.
Will is one of the world’s leading experts on wildlife protection, having travelled to more than 50 countries around the globe working with and advising indigenous populations, NGOs and government officials on animal welfare matters and spreading Born Free’s messages of compassionate conservation.
