Item Description

Take a mid-week getaway this summer and enjoy all that Reno has to offer.  Stay at the Atlantis Casino & Spa for a relaxing spa trip, or venture out to see all that the "Biggest Little City in the World" has to offer.

Dining Out

When it comes to finding interesting places to eat, Reno is a wonderful place to go. There are a number of different types of food served as well as styles of eating establishments too. The city offers enough of a selection that anyone traveling there shouldn’t have trouble finding a place they absolutely love, regardless of what their food preferences are. Top Restaurants in Reno are: La Vecchia Italian Restaurant, Thai Lotus, 4th Street Bistro, and La Strada.

Gaming

One of the main reasons that many people head to Reno each and every year is to take advantage of the gambling opportunities there. Depending on the casino that is being entered, a visitor can usually find almost any of the mainstream and popular gambling games of chance being played there. Some of the favorites include slot machines, video poker, and keno. There are also plenty of live gaming tables too found throughout the city offering such games as blackjack, texas hold’em poker, craps, roulette, and more.

Golfing

With great weather and a constant flow of tourists, the Reno golf scene has grown over the years and now is highly respected with serious golfers from around the country. There are a number of different courses available, not only in Reno but also in the nearby Lake Tahoe area, and it is very easy for a golfer to come to Reno and play a different course each day of their vacation.

Winter Sports

Most people don’t think of Reno as a place to head to for winter recreation, but the city not only offers a wonderful selection of things to do within its city limits, but it is also located near some of the best skiing in the nation. Within one hundred miles of Reno are first class ski resorts and communities like Squaw Valley Ski Resort and Heavenly. Whether a traveler is into skiing or snowboarding, Reno is the right destination to head to.

Shopping

Reno has a vibrant shopping district and many of the world’s trendiest brands are carried in the stores that can be found there. Some shopping can be done in the various casinos, some in the downtown section of the city, as well as other places around the areas of the community where crowds gather. Some of the most interesting shopping in the city though can be done at the West Street Market. The West Street Market is open seven days a week, and stays open long after the sun goes down. Along the marketplace there are businesses and street vendors offering some of the more unusual foods, clothing, and gift purchases that can be found in the city.

Historic Sites

The city of Reno and the surrounding area has had a unique and somewhat exciting history. One of the best ways to both learn about it and experience more of what has made the area what it is today is by taking the opportunity to check out the historic sites the city has to offer. The Joseph Giraud House was built in 1914 for a local sheepherder and is kept today looking much like it did during its glory days as one of the premier homes in the Reno area.
