Experience 6 of the finest reds with a bid on these fabulous wines!
2 bottles of 2002 Benziger Reserve Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast: This classic Pinot Noir boasts magnificent flavors of caramel, cherry, plum, tobacco and vanilla. It is of a medium ruby color; the combination of ripe, rich, bright red flavors with earthy notes, silky, sweet oak provides a good structure and balance.
2000 Santa Duc Heritage Red Table Wine: This is a large, sturdy, broad-shouldered wine with deep, saturated color, a spicy, briery nose and mouth-filling, fruit-drenched flavors of ripe red fruit. The wine spent just enough time in used oak barrels to improve its structure without giving the oak an opportunity to influence the flavors.
2008 Runquist Grenache: This Grenache is light, tart and refreshing... medium to light in color and with a nose of apples, cranberry, pears and plums and an acid-dominated flavor profile of cranberry, tart apple and vanilla. This enjoyable, ethereal Grenache would be great furing the warmer month with its light weight and pleasant flavor.
2007 Freeman Pinot Noir, Russia River Valley: This is without a doubt the most dark, complex and age-worthy expression of Freeman Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Freeman has ever produced. Embodying the character of the monumental 2007 vintage (and not a shift in winemaking styles), this wine displays remarkable color that is significantly darker than past bottlings. The aroma offers an intriguing nose of earth, tar and oak, followed by a lush palate filled with an array of berry fruits. This sophisticated wine is drinking remarkably well at a young age. We are predicting a lifespan through 2014, and probably much longer.
2007 Freeman Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley Keefer Ranch: This beautiful, fruit-forward wine offers a subtle stylistic shift from the three previous vintages of Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir. On the nose, appealing aromas of black cherry and rhubarb dominate, as opposed to Keefer’s more signature floral elements. On the palate, it is noticeably softer in acidity than earlier Keefer bottlings. For those who prefer to pop and pour, rather than decant for several hours, this is a great chance to enjoy a Keefer Pinot in all its youthful glory.
