Item Description

Three of the most sought after wines from Turley: 2007 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, Grist Vineyard; 2008 Howell Mountain Zinfandel, Rattlenake Ridge; 2007 California Zinfandel, Juvenile.

Turley is the name when it comes to blockbuster Zinfandels. These are California's richest, most powerful, and most exotic Zinfandels, taken from forgotten old-vine holdings throughout central and northern California (and now even down to Baja California!)  These wines often are really showcases for the rich, ripe old-vine fruit.

Steven Tanzer labels the 2007 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel a saturated ruby wine with briary dark berries and black cherry on the fruit-driven nose and palate. Suave and sweet, this wine has a nicely silky texture enlivened by underlying minerality. It finishes with lush tannins, a piquant peppery nuance and very good length.

According to the Wine Spectator, the 2007 California Zinfandel Juvenile "... has a deeper ruby color, with hints of roasted herbs, pepper, nori (seaweed wrapper) intermixed with black cherry, raspberry, plum, and some spice. It is a fleshy wine with loads of fruit, medium to full body, and a supple texture."

The fabulous 2007 Howell Mountain Zinfandel is a truly good ruby-red. According to conoisseur Steven Tanzer, the liqueur-like aromas of kirsch and chocolate-covered raisin allows this broad and rich but not overly sweet blend to stand as a solid, calm red.

Enjoy a truly tantalizing Turley experience of your own with a bid on this item!
