Item Description
This is another new, original painting created by San Francisco-based Russian Artist Natasha Popova as part of her Cat & Eye Series. Fear Of Losing My Cat is #2 in the series.
Fear Of Losing My Cat was painted in 2003 during a time when the artist's beloved cat Vania was suffering from cancer. It reflects the varying emotions one feels when the life of someone or something they love is being threatened. Despite its serious subject matter, the painting nonetheless reflects Natasha's vibrant, colorful, and distinctive style for which she is known.
The piece is an Oil on Cotton Canvas Painting that measures approximately 24"H by 24"W, and is unframed.
Natasha's works are currently on display at the Edward Fine Art Gallery in San Francisco and at the Hovik Fine Art Gallery in Los Angeles. Her work can also be found in the private collections of Rosalyn C. Swig, Greg & Ludmilla Finklestein, Antonio Vitanza, and the University of California Hastings College of Law.
Item Special Note
Natasha "Natalie" Popova was born in Karmensk, Russia in the early sixties, and was educated at the Music Art College in Moscow.
Natasha has spent a lot of time studying light, color, and the connection between the human psyche and the feelings expressed primarily through music. She yearns to understanding the connection between woman and animals, children - and their expressions of unconditional love and inner beauty.
Natasha paints from memory and her subconscious in her San Francisco studio. She draws from favorite subjects and themes that have imprinted in her memory and fantasy.
This is the fourth year that Natasha has donated works to ALRP for our auction.
