Item Description
This painting of the Mendocino Music Festival bass violin section is one Patricia OsborneâTMs sketches of the Festival in watercolor and pen and ink. A multimedia artist, her preference is watercolor because of its brilliance of color, fluidity, and never-ending challenge of discovery. The Festival is an exciting time for Patricia! Summer after summer an enormous tent magically appears on the Mendocino Headlands, equipped with heat, lighting, sound system, concert ushers, volunteers, musicians, and stage crews. Wonderful music pours forth from this tent: orchestral and chamber, opera, jazz, and Big Band. Over the past 19 years, Patricia has sat in the tent while the orchestra plays at rehearsal time. In her sketchbook she tries to tell a story about her feelings as she embraces her special moments and personalized response to this magical music. The Mendocino Music Festival has become a part of Mendocino's cultural, social, and intellectual heritage. This painting can be your remembrance of the dazzling performances of 2011!
