Item Description
Escort up to eight lucky friends down the 308-steps to the iconic Point Reyes Lighthouse for a magnificent dinner created and prepared on site especially for the occasion by the nationally celebrated chefs Margaret Grade and Daniel DeLong of Manka's Inverness Lodge. Your special evening includes fine wine personally selected by master vintners, Andy Erickson and Annie Favia-Erickson of Napa’s Favia Wines and by Robert Sinskey Vineyards.
You and your guests will also enjoy a private tour of the grounds by the 'lighthouse keeper' who will illuminate the rare, French-made, first-order Fresnel lens, the largest and most rare lens found in lighthouses today and give you an intimate view of some historic lighthouse artifacts.
The highest bidder of this experience will also receive a special gift from photographer and field seminar instructor, Harold Davis. This includes a 13 x 19 giclee print of "Edge of Night," a "Judge's Choice" prize winner, awarded by the North American Nature Photographer's Association (NANPA) and a collection of Harold's photography books.
"In many ways, dining at the lighthouse was a time traveling event. As we descended the 300 plus steps, we were transported to the 1870’s as we watched the waves crash against the point, spotted a whale swimming near the shoreline, and felt the strength of the blowing winds. As we sat down to dinner, it was as if we were one of the early lighthouse keeper’s families eating our dinner in a candlelit room, listening to the winds, watching as the sun set and the lighthouse light and foghorn traveled for miles into the dark waters to provide safety for passing ships." ---Guest at the 2011 Feast at the Point of Kings
