Item Description

Gather up to 25 of your favorite little ones, family and friends for an unforgettable retreat at the Clem Miller Environmental Education Center located in the heart of Point Reyes National Seashore. Your guests will enjoy rustic accommodations in our camp cabins, a wood-fired paella dinner and access to our lodge and naturalist library.

Your group will be nestled in a peaceful valley just two-miles from Limantour Beach. The center includes a large cedar lodge with dining room, a library of environmental books and a touch table of natural items, a bath house and campfire circle. The center is a model of ecological sustainability with its own composting, recycling, solar heated water and solar panels.

During the day your group will be treated to a naturalist-led hike around Limantour Beach, where you will explore the tidal zone, build sand castles and have a chance to view marine mammals in Drakes Bay. The fun continues back at camp with a wood fired mobile seafood paella dinner extravaganza hosted with Paella del Reyes chef Tom Meckfessel who uses local and organic ingredients when ever possible. Guests will have chance to help Tom prepare the meal at various stages and savor the rich aromas of chicken, organic onions, garlic, broth, tomatoes, the finest saffron, smoked Spanish paprika and rice and one or all of: wild caught prawns, scallops, squid, and shellfish from Hog Island Oyster Company in Marshall.

As the sun slips away your group will gather around the camp fire circle with renowned naturalist, storyteller and artist Ane Carla Rovetta and primitive skills educator, Peter Bergen, who will transport your guests into the magical realm of storytelling and demonstrate the art of firemaking. After s'more makings, drift to into sleep. Local pastries from the Bovine Bakery await your group in the morning. Bid today!

Bid live at Dinner on the Pacific Plate, September 10. Not able to attend? Contact Donna Faure at (415) 663.1200 x 303 or at donnaf@ptreyes.org to place your absentee bid.
