Item Description

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience our national heritage using the skills of our ancestors. Invite up to three guests to join you for a backcountry adventure with Point Reyes National Seashore Association's Field Seminar Director, Jason Flesher.

Your one-night, two-day backpacking trip will be geared to your skills and experience and includes an overnight stay under the stars in one of the park's four backcountry camps.  With over 27 years of experience leading groups in backpacking, and the lost art of primitive living skills, Jason is an exceptional guide to have on your next adventure.

Prior to your trip, Jason will assist your group in planning for their adventure to the seashore. Your guests will learn the art of packing for a backpacking trip, how to plan and make a gourmet dinner and breakfast in the wild, and navigate the wilderness using maps and a compass, all while practicing leave no trace ethics. Gear will be provided as needed, but attendees will have to share the load.

Jason's explorations have brought him to the top of 23,000 foot peaks and to labyrinths 1,500 feet beneath the surface of the earth. Jason has also been an event administrator for REI and experiential facilitator and wilderness instructor educating diverse groups of all ages and backgrounds in 15 countries and throughout the United States. His work has been featured in in The New York Times, Readers Digest, Outfitter, Climbing and the National Speleological Society magazines.
